We really care about our UShift Community and we want to give everyone a chance to earn extra money so that everyone can enjoy doing the things they love!
But being a member of the UShift Community also means that you must follow some rules, as you are now a UShift Ambassador. It is also the opportunity for you to ace jobs and build a 5-star profile. You will have access to more jobs, have more chances to be hired and eventually will have greater opportunities to earn more money!
1. Build a killer profile
In order to increase your chances of getting hired, we firstly recommend to follow our tips on how to build a killer profile.
As your profile will be the first thing that Employers will check when you match with them, it is really important to make a strong first impression and try to stand out from other applicants. If you don't have a lot of experience, show us how motivated you are and highlight your skills and strengths.
2. Don't apply for jobs you can't do
We understand that you might have some last-minute situations which may cause you to be unable to make it for the shift that you were hired for. However, once you have been hired for the shift, your behavior is representative of not only yourself but also of UShift. Therefore, we take unprofessional behavior very seriously, so please only apply to a shift when you are certain of your attendance.
- More than 24 hours before the shift:
While such cancellations are allowed, it should not be frequent behavior. Each cancellation will be noted in our system. Should you exhibit frequent cancellation behavior, UShift reserves the right to suspend you from our platform.
If you let us know in advance, we will find another willing UShifter to take the shift. This keeps your fellow UShift peers happy and the businesses delighted! This will keep the employers on the platform so that you can then take them up on their next job offer :)
- Less than 24 hours before the shift:
Last minute cancellations are extremely detrimental to employers, and UShift may not be able to replace you on time. This client may choose to stop posting on UShift, thus causing us to have fewer jobs for UShifters.
A last-minute cancellation would result in a ban from this platform.
3. Stay connected and always respond to employers
If you match with Employers, they will be able to contact you through the chat and ask you some questions. Make sure that you don't miss a message and that you answer quickly and with professionalism. Not responding to an employer might result in fewer chances to be hired.
If you are hired, your employer may also contact you to give you some details or update you on the job. If you don't respond on time, the employer might cancel the job and find another UShifter to take your place. This will also be noted by the system.
4. Be professional during your job
This means you should:
- Be punctual: anticipate travel times and arrive 15min before the job. If you are late, please inform the employer as soon as you can. It will also be noted by the system so it will be detrimental to your chances of getting hired.
- Be polite: smile and stay positive!
- Respect the dress code: the dress code is noted in the job offer. Please follow the specific instructions of the employer.
- Be professional
As you are rated by the employer after the job, it will be beneficial to excel at your shift, so that your stellar reviews will lead you to more jobs!
